I traveled once more into the breach and lived to tell the tale. This time I traveled out to North Vancouver to meet with BC Liberal hopeful, George Abbott. Abbott fielded questions from the audience, a very friendly and supportive audience I might add. However, there were some interesting questions about the HST, the fixed election date and a snap election.
After Abbott was done answering audience questions, North Vancouver-Seymour MLA Jane Thornthwaite thanked Abbott for visiting North Van and encouraged the gathered supporters to stick around, buy a BC Liberal membership and talk to George Abbott one to one. So I did. Stuck around and talked to him that is.
Here is a short video of George Abbott answering a series of questions that I posed to him.
Jane Thornthwaite, Naomi Yamamoto and Richard Lee were in attendance at this event. These are three of the 16 MLAs and BC Liberal cabinet ministers who have come out to publicly endorse George Abbott. Interesting that Harry Bloy is the only MLA who has endorsed Christy Clark.
Abbott also fielded questions from the audience on the HST and the HST referendum, the BC Rail $6million legal costs pay-out, and a couple other questions. As soon as I have those videos processed I will upload them and add the link to this blog post.
Here Abbott talks a little about a very limited BC Rail inquiry:
And in this video he talks about the HST and the upcoming referendum:
There are more videos on my YouTube channel. Have a look. There is an interesting one where a constituent talks to him about the future of BC Hydro and their contracts to purchase power from independent power producers. Have a look.
