Ignatieff Keeping Leader’s Seat Warm for Trudeau?

July 11, 2010 by theleftcoast.ca · 4 Comments

In a recent blog post on Langley Politics Dotcom Jordan Bateman and Sam “Politics” Kirk, were musing about Justin Trudeau’s leadership potential. They wonder if Ignatieff is simply keeping the Liberal leadership seat warm while the young Trudeau gains political experience.

They add into that mix Gerard Kennedy as the brains of the “new” federal Liberal Party with Justin Trudeau as the face of the Natural Governing Party.

With the increasing rumblings of a fall election I have to wonder if the Liberals really are willing to leave the keys to 24 Sussex Drive in Stephen Harper’s pocket. Are the federal Liberals willing to lose another election before making the change?

With all due respect to the autors of LangleyPolitics, I doubt if Iggy is interested in anyone usurping him at the moment..especially a Trudeau..I don’t see the point of throwing Trudeau in there, simply because of the family connection..not that I wouldn’t prefer him to Iggy…
I’d prefer anyone to Ignatieff, but can’t see how that would do anything for the party’s fortunes..it’s really time for the Libs to get in on a minority basis, and do the hard work required to get back into the good graces of Canadians, if at all possible..but Iggy is too arrogant to have a coalition, so why on earth would he cede his leadership to Justin Trudeau..he’ll have to be forced, and the party is in too much disarray to coalesce into a unit strong enough to push him out..

Poor old Iggy does not even know that he is simply keeping the seat warm. He is acting so sincere and “leader-like” and yet he is just a temp. Poor Iggy.

  3. I’m pretty sure a change in LPC leadership at this point won’t make any difference in the rumoured fall election. I’m pretty sure the Conservatives (unfortunately) have that one in the bag. They will win another minority government, the size who knows.

Minority? No, this time the Conservatives WILL get the majority they have been seeking and Canada will for it.
