BC Lottery Debacle Continues to Fester

July 29, 2010 by theleftcoast.ca · 1 Comment

Can you imagine the howls of indignant outrage from the likes of Gordon Campbell, Rich Coleman, Mike de Jong and the rest of the BC Liberals about the BC Lottery Corporation debacle if there was a New Democrat government in power right now?

What would the BC Liberals be demanding of the New Democrats right now?

It was not that long ago when BC Lottery retailers were found to be the luckiest lottery buyers in the province. What happened about that fiasco? Basically nobody was held responsible.

What happened when it was revealed that BC Lottery was fined $670,000 for more than 1,000 violations under the federal Proceeds of Crime Act and failing to properly track and report large financial transactions? BC Lottery Corporation is the only provincial gambling commission to be fined for failing to report suspicious or large transactions at casinos.

What do you think that the BC Liberals would be saying to the New Democrats if they were in government? You can bet that it would be more than saying that they are simply concerned.
